Charles H. Bronson Perserve
The Charles H. Bronson State Forest is a vast place to visit and an under-utilized gem for the sporting hiker/trailblazer, casual hiker, biker and equestrian. Its total landmass is 9,754 acres, with multiple access points.
Some of the land is leased for cattle so be prepared to see a lot of them even blocking your way. This also prevents a direct route to GZ having to trek around the "private land" pastures.
Be sure to take a lot of water and some energy drink/food but most of all have a good pair of boots since the about 4 hour and 8-10 mile round trip will test your physical wits.
Also, seasonal hunting is allowed so check that out before you leave. Here is one maintained by Tom Choma (aka frogman)
