HAVE A KAYAK OR CANOE? WE NEED YOU!
NO KAYAK OR CANOE? WE NEED YOU!
With the cooperation of the Southeast District of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife, we aim to clean up the area around this section of the HSWMA.
In addition to the trash on land, we'll need the help of anyone who could come with a canoe or kayak to help remove items from the water as well as on the islands.
We'll be meeting at around 9 a.m. at the above coordinates. For those coming by water, it's best to put in at the boat ramp off of Route 104 and launch from there.
Work gloves and latex-free gloves will be provided. Feel free to bring any rake, shovels, or other tools you think might be useful.
As the clean-up winds down, we'll gather around the campfire on the beach to mingle and 'talk trash'. The J11 Crew will provide the hot dogs and marshmallows.
There will be a drawing for a 'as yet to be determined' prize, open to all who attend.
This promises to be a fun event. So if you're one of those folks who likes to attend events, but not CITO's (you know who you are!), or if you know someone like that, come on out and give back a little. You'll be glad you did!
