This is where it all started. From Cheyenne, Wyoming to the Black Hills of South Dakota VIA Chugwater, Torrington, Lusk, NewCastle. Begin here for your journey back in time. Imagine dusty roads, squeaky stagecoaches, ladies in fancy dresses, and men with six shooters hanging at their hips. This is the start of the famous Cheyenne-Ft. Laramie-Deadwood Stagecoach Trail. Traveled for many years in the late 1800s, the trail is now no more than a collection of poignant historical markers. Imagine what it would be like to travel from Cheyenne to the Black Hills 140 years ago.
