This cache is part of my Sandwich, MA series of caches that make up my Girl Scout Gold Award project. This is a virtual cache. You can take in the views and enjoy the beach and hiking trails.
In season (April 1st to October 31st), there is a daily charge for beach parking from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day from 8am to 5pm (this daily pass allows you access to other beaches in Barnstable which are listed on the back of the pass). There is no charge after 5pm. In season, beach hours are 8am to 11pm and all vehicles must exit the park by 11pm. Off season (November 1st through March 31st ), the parking lot closes at 9pm. If you visit during warmer weather, you may want to bring a bathing suit, towel and beach chair.
Sandy Neck Beach also offers a front beach driving corridor for
permitted vehicles. This permit is available for approved four-wheel and
all-wheel drive vehicles as well as two-wheel drive motor homes. The off road
vehicle permits are sold at the Sandy Neck Gatehouse and are valid yearly from
April 15 through the following April 15. Day passes for the ORV
beach are not sold.
