Long walk along the Ragged Rapids Sidetrail on the Ganaraska trail.
a 11km round trip hike through prime bear country. The trails are
clearly marked, but still hard to follow.
The bears here will only run as fast as the slowest member of your
party, so choose your accompanying geocachers wisely. A hike of
this nature will also REQUIRE drinking water. Dehydration can cause
dizziness, and a fair amount of this hike will require balancing
atop cliff edges. You will be doing a lot of hiking over some of
the most even terrain in Ontario to get here, so pack wisely.
This cache is at the very end of the Lower Ragged Rapids, where the
granite boulder field meets a sandy riverbed pool, and turns into
calm water once more. Off the top of my head, you will need to pass
at least 4 plunge waterfalls, and a slew of rapids along the black
river to get to this point.. So Canoes are not recommended, unless
you are coming from the west (then your guess is as good as mine!)
