I love finding geodetic markers and this was no exception!
This particular marker is located at the Elgin Depot Museum. If you want to learn more about Elgin history, please check out the exhibits inside. The Union Pacific Railroad still operates trains on the nearby tracks, although the depot itself was named after the union of the Southern Pacific and "Katy" railroads. Elgin was a major transportation crossroad in the Southwest because of these railroads.
