Description EN

I discovered the Mt. Washington Arboretum earlier this year, while looking for another cache.

Logging Requirement:
1. Visit the site in person.
2. Please post a photo of you / your GPS / other geocaching specific item with the bench.
3. You will also need to enter a Log Password to claim this cache.

There is a three letter acronym on a plaque attached to the bench (ABC).  This will be your Log Password.

OPTIONAL -

Sign the Sacred Spaces Guest Book.

This area used to be an apartment complex, but was condemned after flooding during Hurricane David in 1989.  In 1999, the Mt. Washington Preservation Trust began work on the arboretum in cooperation with the Baltimore City Parks Department, who had acquired the acre plot of land.

In addition to being a showcase for local plants, various amenities have been added, including a pond & waterfall, storage shed, retaining walls, pergolas, benches, entrance kiosk, interpretive signs, entrance archway with tiles by children from the Mt. Washington School, two green roofs with water storage, a mural,  a "council ring", and a meeting pavilion.

Enjoy this natural oasis in the city.

This bench and journal was placed as part of the Sacred Spaces program of Nature Sacred which has helped develop such places in the Baltimore, Washington and Annapolis areas.
