Description EN

I've been wanting to get my first Dead Drop cache out for some time.  I've finally settled on a good location.

This cache will bring you to Zion Cemetery, founded in 1850.

This is an offset cache, so you will visit the listed coords and get some info to determine the actual location of the dead drop.  The dead drop is in a small, just big enough water-thight container.

Formally known as Dorsey Emmanuel United Methodist Zion Cemetery, the gates are open daily from 8 AM - 6 PM.

At the posted coordinates, you will find a headstone with a unique family name.  You should know it when you see it, but you are looking for Mary R. and George R.  Depending on your eyesight or assistive device you may be able to read the information from your car.

Mary's dates are 19ab - 19cd.  George's are 19ef - 20gh.

Dead drop is located at N 39 11.UVW W 76 45.XYZ.

Log Password - Be sure to check for the log password that will be in the "log book" file on the thumb drive.

The Dead Drop cache is a cache that is contained on a USB thumb drive. The USB drive is usually embedded into a wall to prevent theft. To log the cache, the user accesses the drive via a laptop and adds his/her name to the log text file contained on the USB drive. Your find is then recorded on this site. Read more about them on the Wiki article.

Before you find a Dead Drop cache, be aware of the potential dangers.  I keep an old Netbook just for these and do not use my primary laptop.  In a worst case senario, I can either just reload or replace the system.

If you plan to search this cache, but are concerned about using your own laptop, please contact me and I would be glad to try to meet you and let you use my dedicated system.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
