This cache is part of my Sandwich, MA series of caches that make up my Girl Scout Gold Award project. Easy to find in front of this store that's housed in a historic building and accessible when the store is not open, this cache is labeled unknown because it is a plant stake with a QR code. Download the i-inigma QR code reading app to your smartphone (free for both Android and iPhone) to scan the QR code for information on the cache location.
The Brown Jug offers specialty food, wine and a cafe in a historic building that was formerly the Thayer House. If you choose to check it out, business hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 8pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 7pm. Walk a few short feet East to the island in the middle of Jarves Street and you will find a memorial to honor two men from Sandwich who died in World War I.
