Tried to find the first stage today, but couldn't. Found the gorgeous brickwork, but no sign of the container. Possibly buried, possibly gone.

With a work closure due to a driving ban in S. Buffalo, I thought I'd head over to where there isn't any snow at all and so some caching. Beautiful day in the Tonawandas! Can't expect December days any better than this unless you are below the Mason-Dixon line. Had lots of trouble at leg one as my GPS insisted I go down the hill. Checked another likely spot then went for the hint. Final was easy. I spotted the spot very quickly. A quick signature on the log and I was off. Thanks for a nice cache on bike trail!

I stopped by my own cache to grab this Geokrety thing to place in a new opencache about a mile away. Imagine that, free Geocaching travelers you make yourself. They don't cost like $5.95 apiece, and are not part of tens of millions of dollars in revenue for a Geocaching website. Sorry, had to comment. But alas, there's nothing there. Perhaps the Gofster took it?

Managed to find this one despite the hear of wiener dogs Guarding the area of leg one. Once the self propelled bedroom slippers moved on we got our coords and moved on down the trail. With the area around the final deserted we had no problem logging in.

Thanks for the fun.

Chicky and I found this one today. We rather enjoyed this lil' slice of bikepath, even though we did nearly scare the turd out of an unsuspecting dog walker. Meh, so is the plight of the semi-urban cacher.

Anyhoo, we found both legs with no trouble, and even took the final for a walk a little further down the trail so we could sign in to the sounds of Two Mile Creek. Pretty interesting location - I should have looked to see if there were any GC's or whatever else placed nearby, but I'm far too lazy to spend that much time planning.

So with the cache signed, logged and all that fun jazzness...we returned it to it's hiding spot with a geokretter we picked up eariler in the week. Damned if I know how to log it in here...but I'll figure something out. Hahaha.

Thanks Urkel...er...I mean Mr. Yucklebuckle.

~Szuchie

I am not used to these bike path things! If we had em out here the Fire Dept would be called out for bike vs cow accidents Surprised

Out clearing up a couple of multis along the path, so it was easy to shift gears from the Frog to the whatever-we-will-call this new player. I made pretty quick work of both legs.

It's a good thing I peered out of the bushes before popping back out onto the path, because a recent dog had left a very generous gift right where I was just about to step.

Thanks for the cache!

This brings up an excellent point, Sabrefan7. I found a cache labor day weekend along the Amherst Bike Trail, that I did not like, because it made cachers look like complete whack-job's crashing into the bushes close to the bike trail. However, this is a rather low-traffic bike trail; it's like you're on a country road in Genesee County, and comparing it to driving down Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst. Tongue out So if you're one of the few finders of this cache, I'd check the trail before exiting the woods, to see what's up. I'd say "use stealth", but I despise that term, as it intimates lifting a lampskirt in a store parking lot or something. For me, at least.

Oh yes as threatened, I have made the OCUS journey to find the un found. After taking a very nice and thorn ridden walk in the nature area in Lockport. I made the drive over to Two Mile Creek and parked at the proper coordinates. I walked into the brush in the wrong spot for the first leg but popped back out and soon found it right away. I entered the numbers for the final and off I went. I passed what I thought was another cacher looking at his iPhone but all he was mumbling was something about WIFI ? So after he was around the bend I popped back into the brush and once again found it in the first place I looked. 3rd to find and my 2nd OCUS geocache Smile The worst was waiting to come back out of the bushes as not to look like some creep leering at passing dog walkers Innocent Thanks for the fun Mr Yuck. As you know,, you are now bound by the ancient and time honored traditions of OCUS. You MUST to trek out to Genesee County and look for mine.

Since I was doing the nearby multi AND since this one was only .71 from home, I figured I'd do them both at the same time. Struggled for awhile with leg 1 as my GPS was pointing at something about 30' away, but there was no way to get to it. Figuring that an established geotrail hadn't been established yet, I tried to make my own. About halfway there through stuff taller than me, I decided to turn back and rethink. Another couple back-and-forths later I finally found the place where a larger man had walked. At that point, I made the find in the first place I looked. Headed towards the final where nobody was around, and again took a couple seconds to find the right entry point. No troubles finding this leg either. Nice job on this one. Looking forward to this being a viable alternative website.

Congratulations to this new cacher "TWU" for being the first to find this cache. Geez, owned by Cayuga Crew again. Now I owe you two, pal. And I ain't talking about Yuengling's. Yell

Alerted to a whole new game in town after stumbling out of bed this morning I decided to try and squeeze in a hunt here before a 7:35 Appt. After plotting the desired course from here to there and then to the other place I was worried that the 27 minutes of spare time in between stops wouldn't be enough. Fortunatley the coords were right on for both legs making this a a 26 minute stop and I signed the first empty OpenCaching log book I have ever seen at about 7:00.

This new geocaching site looks intersting. I hope it doesn't become another place to cross list existing caches. The other nice thing is that if you sign up early you pretty much get your choice of log in ID's.

Who is going to be the first to find this "historic" cache?
