Found as part of the GCGC laundry relay. I pulled up in the parking lot to find 3 cars backed in and facing the cache location. Oh well, I went for a stroll and I guess lunchtime was up as they all left within 2 minutes of each other.  Signed the log and returned as found.

I spied right off the geocache I had previously found at this location but spent a great deal of time looking for the opencache knowing that it was a redux of some previously hidden conatiner. Out of idle curiosity and to take my focus for a bit away from my hunt I retrieved the familiar cache, opened it, and say my wooden nickel. Indeed it was the geocache I had previously logged. Let's see my name on the log. A huge headslap for me!!! This was the opencache I had been looking for. Oh My! What tales we gather to regale our family and muggle friends.

Okay, now I remember, I've been in this little park before. Lots of people out enjoying the unusually warm early February weather this afternoon. I had a seat near the cache and watched for low flying planes like the sign warned me...pretty cool!!

Was down from Maryland with sfcchaz for a (mostly) alt-caching run thru Charlotte.  This was day two, after a surprisingly well attended 0630 (AKA o'dark thirty) event at Krispy Kreme (maybe that explains it).

We had a great time and definitely plan to make a return trip some time.

DudleyGrunt and I came down to North Carolina to seek some OCNA caches. They are many, many OCNA caches in the Charlotte area and we wanted to seek them during the current contest going on the OCNA site.

Today I found 45 OCNA cahes, 5 Groundspeak caches, 1 GPSgames.org cache , 1 Opencaching.com cache and several possible Terracaching.com locationless caches.

DG had the right idea on this one as my GPSr was telling me the wrong way. TFTC

Hmmm...

 

I double checked my coords, and I didn't fat-finger anything.  Those are the coords I read and averaged a few times.  It is possible that my cell phone coords were a little poor.

 

The hint should give away the hide.  The coords should get you close enough!

 

And yes, TH...  I didn't modify the container.  I had plans on carving some mind-blowing cache host, but it sat on my workbench since I picked it up on May 25, 2010!

I remember the location as it was my 8th find in 2007 and I crafted the "base" container that I'm confident RV altered very little if any given his time constraints with work and keeping up with the Charlottegeocaching.com "TermiteHunters Alternative to the Frog GPSr Challenge" contest.

I was at GZ and could not find anything but a small pine tree that needs a bigger hole.  I wonder if this cache is under the tree.  Maybe the next cacher will have better luck.
