Stage one is in place. The final however had been stolen. I'll have to look for a replacement container.

It was a Beautiful day for a walk in the woods and we were not sure what to expect as we approached a familiar area. The park was not crowded at all and we were able to search with only one potential muggle in site. They had head phones on and didn't notice us. I spotted something unusual, and GPN was the first to take a look. After I had a chance to do the same, off we went, surprisingly in the correct direction. Found the container and signed the log. This is one cool concept. TFTC and a Favorite Point for creativity.

Met up with themulcher at my favorite geocaching park to find the latest cache addition here. After finally finding my caching partner, we made our way towards GZ. At this time of the year it was an easy trek to make a beeline straight to our target. However, in the summer it will probably be a slightly different story.
The weren't many disc golfers to worry about this morning and we located the first stage quickly. After finding the original cache in this area I wasn't sure what to expect, but we were both happily surprised with the unique method used to locate the final. The only other time I've seen this technique used was in the unlock your senses series, which was archived a while back. Off to find the cache...and we did in the first place we looked. Thanks for restoring a cache in this awesome park and making it a fun adventure...favorite point!

Was excited to see this new cache in Idewild and came out on a great February day to make the find. Was slightly confused at the first stage as we have never seen this concept before but soon figured out what to do. The cache was not at the first place we thought and which seemed to be the obvious place and we spend quite a bit of time poking and crawling around it. Decided to step back and take another look and found another area that would be suitable for the final. Had to wait out several groups of disc golfers who were all over the place on this Saturday but eventually was able to retrieve the cache and get our names on the logs. Thanks for the new one!

I received an email notification yesterday about TermiteHunter's new cache in Idlewild Park, and I thought, "Oh cool, a new TH hide in my backyard park, maybe I'll go get it when I need to fill in a calendar day." I finished painting early today, and as I checked the listing and saw that no one had yet claimed the cache, I felt a small bead of sweat trickle down my back. I drove to the park thinking about how I had hiked every square inch of that place over the last 11 or 12 years, and I already had a route planned by the time I parked the paint mobile. Of course, I quickly abandoned my route and just went crashing through the trees in the direction of the compass needle. I thought about all the fun times I've had at Idlewild with family and friends as the seasons changed and the years sped by. I remembered hot days, cold days, perfect Carolina days—hiding caches, finding caches, dressing up like a chick, lacerating my neck, and taking spider webs to the face all the while. I found the Watcher in short order and quickly searched the first obvious location when I should have known better. I went back and refocused and came up with the prize on my second attempt. It's been so long since I found one of these containers that I almost forgot how to open it, but I got it done and discovered that I was indeed the first to view the Watcher's treasure—my inner pharaoh thought the log book cover was dope as well. FTF at 10:55am on a warm, late winter's day. Thank you bugkiller for the really cool cache and the memories!

I didn't realize this was a twofer until looking at the list of ocus new hides and seeing a familiar name. Well, it's been found, doubly.

I saw a couple posts about this on gcgc forums, and decided it shouldn't stay any more lonely. Plus the weather was too good to stay inside, and we'd never been to this park, so it was time. We had no idea what route was best, so we made our way from cache to cache, partly on trails, and partly cross country, until we found our way here. We were a little off target at first, but geocachere came through as I was starting to wander off the wrong way.

☢

Thanks, TermiteHunter, for setting this up!

+/- 152 @ February 15, 2018 2:24 PM.
