Yah, I get another digit on the list! Now I am making progress.

I think the college student showing the house was glad I arrived. He was more than willing to show me the book. Even helped me find the right page. He told me a little of the place and let me look around. I thanked him and went on my way. It was a quick lesson and smiley in my GSAK book. (and one digit closer to the final) Thanks for placing and exposing to other sites.

Had to reread the description a couple of times and then took a few minutes to find the right entry.  Thanks to Dudley Grunt for the verification info in the notes.  I think I am just over 1/3 done with the series and having a great time.

My 200th OpenCaching North America find!

I came down to the Fredericksburg, VA area and beyond wtih sfcchaz to seek out some special caches (OCUS, TC, and GC Virts).  I'd visited once before, but got here just after closing (see below).

Today, we took the grand tour and chatted to the Park Ranger about geocaching.

Unfortunately, we found that the guest book was replaced on 9/25/12.  Got pics with signatures and GPS on the guest book, though.

#16 of 29 finds today. Spent the day with DudleyGrunt caching in the area. Found hides on 6 different listing services today: GC, TC, OCUS, NC, LbNA and GPSgames.

Congrats to DudleyGrunt on his 200th OCUS find! We took the tour provided by the Park Ranger and chatted for a while. TFTC

Finally got down here on another mission and retrieved the code.

You'd think, I'd be better at planning a cache run, by this point.

If I'd done my homework, before heading down, I'd been sure to stop here first and would have gotten here just before they closed up. 

The building is open 9-5 on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays only through the end of April. It will be open daily from May 1 through October 27. The grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk.

Sigh...

Deciding to avoid the traffic on 95, I ended up passing by anyway, so I did stop and grabbed the GC.com virtual and a pic.  Had hoped that maybe I'd get lucky and there'd be someone there late.

I guess it's the caretakers who appear to live on the other side of the parking lot.  I even pushed the button for the audio commentary, partly in hopes that someone would walk over and aske if I wanted to take a look.  Oh, well.

I did wonder how long the Log Password will be available, though.  I imagine they get a lot of visitors and probably have ot change out guest books.

Also, this seems to once again be an "OCUS ONLY" caches.

Congratulations to both ton9819 and G.O. Cash for being pioneering finders of this cache back when it was only listed on the open-source, non-profit, community-driven geocache listing site opencaching.US!

Signed the guestbook, and made a note of the password. Had a look around the house, guided by the friendly ranger. Well worth the visit.

This completes the RR Knutz series for me, I have found and logged all the caches; quite an adventure. Thanks again Cachew Knutz! TFTC& series!
