Description EN

Note: This is not a park and grab. Do not park on First Road West - you won't be able to get to the cache. Park in the lot for the dog park, and follow the main trail south. Then turn left on the first short "spur trail". This will lead you to the cache. The container is a micro, but I plan to replace it with something larger.

Meet Jack:

Jack

Jack is our first dog, a golden doodle puppy. He has lots of energy. Today we took Jack to Hamilton's newest leash-free dog park. I always wondered about these dog park, how they work and what keeps the dogs from mauling each other. But out visit went well and more than 20 dogs ran and played with tails wagging, enjoying the large four-acre fenced-in area. We'll be back.

The Heritage Green Community Trust Dog Park opened to the public in June 2015. There are no geocaches in this park (there are a few in the neighbouring park). And so here it is, the first cache and it's an OCNA-only hide. I will continue to place OCNA caches in this park as we visit again and again.

About the Heritage Green Community Trust Dog Park:

a new four-acre dog
park called the Heritage Green Community Trust LeashFree
Dog Park; the largest fenced leash-free dog park in
Hamilton. The dog park was built on Terrapure’s closed
West Quarry land.
The new dog park is incorporated into a 56-acre passive
park with a double gate entrance, seating areas, shade
trees and a pathway. The passive park area includes 3.1
km of accessible walking trails (with rest areas and
benches) that connect to the East Mountain Loop Trail, the
Heritage Green Community Sports Park and the Heritage
Green subdivision.

Cache maintenance log:

10 October 2015 - Cache hidden and published on OCNA.

14 October 2016 - Cache checked, all is well. Many groundspeak caches here now but this one predates all of those.

27 December 2016 - Cache checked, all is well. Will likely hide a letterbox (Listed on AtlasQuest) at this spot in the near future.
