Description   EN

"Joseph Davis State Park has facilities for a wide variety of recreational activities. The terrain is generally flat, with fields, woodlands and ponds. Anglers can fish for largemouth bass in the pond near the park entrance or for a variety of freshwater fish from the fishing dock on the lower Niagara River. The park also has a nature trail, as well as cross-country skiing/snowshoeing and snowmobiling trails and an 27-hole frisbee disc golf course."

Quick find.

A handful of disc golfers and myself were the only souls in the park on this first day of Autumn. Found the cache in fine shape. Thanks!

Entered the park from Pletcher Road, and pulled over to the side to plan my caching/munzee hunting for the day. The park road was like grand central station on a Sunday afternoon in November! Then I remembered I know someone who lived at the family "vacation home" in Youngstown (they're big sailing people) for a few months while their house was being built, and they told me how they cut through the park to get to the Pletcher road on-ramp of the Robert Moses Parkway. Apparently, everyone in Youngstown does this. Tongue out So anyways, I had been to the general area of this BIT for caches before, and I found the BIT no problem, which was still in pristine condition. Thanks for placing it.

Decided to head up to Lewiston for some OCUS caches and Munzees. As it turns out, the Lewiston Art Festival (I think) was going on, so traffic was pretty horrendous. Fortunately I knew a few shortcuts and avoided most of the mess. Once I got past the village, it was clear sailing up to the park. Quite a few people here, but I think most were using the disc golf course. Been awhile since I've been to the park so thanks for bringing me back and TFTBit.

3414.  FTF, Baby!  Over 400 miles from home and the first FTF, during my trip.  Not much going on at the park, today, except for a couple guys ther for Disk Golf.

Thanks and Happy Trails!
