Description   EN

At both both sets of coordinates, you will find a memorial to a particular group of people, who you may not often see memorials for, but who you do often see in their line of work.  Hopefully, this will lead you to be more aware and mindful of them.

Per Wikipedia:  Chesapeake House opened in 1975. Today, Chesapeake House is run by a private corporation. U.S. Federal law prescribes that rest areas on public (toll-free) interstate highways be maintained by the state, however Maryland was able to obtain an exemption, allowing them to commercialize Chesapeake House and Maryland House. This exemption was granted because the service areas were constructed when the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway was a toll road. Now, Maryland is responsible for the grounds, while the commercial operators absorb the costs of operation. WTOP-FM says that the two commercialized rest-stops bring in $40 million per annum.

LOGGING REQUIREMENT:  You will need a Log Password to claim this virtual cache.  On the memorial, locate the individual from 1979.  The Log Password is that person's Last Name.

Cache accessible by both northbound and southbound travelers.  The primary coords will be more convenient if you are southbound.  If you are headed north, you may find the secondary coords more convenient.  Identical memorials, with the same information, will be available at both.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.

Mrs. sfcchaz and I had a couple of $25 food coupons for Hollywood Casino and also $30 of free slot play. Can you say road trip!?

I knew this one was up here, so that also had a determining factor in making the more than hour trip this way. Wink TFTC

We were headed up to Delaware/North East MD to do some caching, and working on the Hiders and Seekers UNLIMITED contest. I didn't need the new caches up this way, but still decided to get them while we were on this side of the toll bridge. Thanks for the cache, and the chance to get out and walk around.
