This historical marker outlines the significant highlights of the history of Mississippi County, comprising 411 square miles of Missouri's great alluvial plain. The eastern border of the county follows the Mississippi river and the county has long had importance to Missouri as an agricultural powerhous producing soy, cotton and several important grains. But, I'll let you read the rest on the marker.
Not a requirement, but a picture of yourself at the marker is a nice way to remember the trip and to share with the rest of us.
The Password for logging this virtual cache is the number of prehistoric Mississippian People's mounds survive in Mississippi County.
It is my intent to add many historical markers and historical sites throughout Missouri (and neigboring states, particularly to the south and the east) as caches. I love stopping and reading these markers and I hope you will too!
