Description   EN

Welcome to one of our favorite places to visit. Alexandria Bay and The Thousand Islands. This cache will bring you to Scenic View Park and Casino Island.  Connecting the main land to Casino Island is a small replica bridge like the one you cross to get to Wellesley Island and Canada. This tiny island was home to a casino from 1902 till it burned in 1922. From here you can take in the wonderful views of the world famous Boldt Castle. Further up North you can see Sunken Rock Lighthouse. If you have never done so I recommend taking a boat ride on the St. Lawrence Sea Way and a visit to Boldt Castle in season you can also stop at Mr. Boldt's Yacht House. Visit the links for more information. There is also a Letterbox and an earthcache at this site, hope you enjoy all three.

The coordinates will take you to a monument in memory of a member of the 10th Mountain Division based in near by Watertown. The pass word required to log this cache is the last name of the man who paid the ultimate sacrifice for his country.

Beautiful day in Alex Bay. Enjoying the sites and sounds while grabbing some caches. Thanks for bringing me here.

Another OCNA FTF on an SF7 cache at a vacation destination in New York State. I'm beginning to think we place these Virtuals and Guestbooks just for each other. I was there about 5:00 PM on August 31st, although I could not log it from whatever version of IE on a public computer at Ft. Drum. IE is like the browser of choice for the U.S. Military, I might add. This is an awesome memorial, in an awesome location, thanks for creating the cache!
