Welcome to the lovely "town square" area of Matthews, surrounded by the Town Hall, library and Matthews Welcome Center/Museum.  Unnoticed by most visitors is a small plaque at ground level at the posted coordinates.  This time capsule was buried in 2004 to mark the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Town of Matthews.
