Description
Edge of the Cedars museum houses the largest collection of Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) pottery in the Four Corners Area.

In ancient times, canyons in this area were home to a large number of native people. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, many artifacts were carried out of the canyons and sent to museums throughout the world. In more recent years, relics are left on-site, if possible, or sent to local museums if they need protection. Many relics from local sites are exhibited in Edge of the Cedars Museum.

The museum was built at the site of an ancient village which included dwelling units and a kiva. The kiva and some other structures have been restored and can be viewed behind the museum.

The museum offers programs for adults and children, including archeology and art exhibitions, storytelling, craft workshops and an annual Indian art market held on the first Saturday every May. Park facilities include a very short, paved interpretive trail around the ruin, landscaping with native plants and outdoor sculptures, and a picnic area.
