In the Cedar Hill area, turn west off the highway onto County Road 2300. Go 1.3 miles. Turn north on CR 2310. Go 2.7 miles. Park at the natural gas compression station if you don't have 4-wheel drive. If you do have 4-wheel drive, turn off onto the access road and continue east past the gas wells and park when you get to the sandstone formations, at approximately N 36 59.761 W 107 54.617.
Follow the trail up the wash. The trail will take you mostly along the lefthand side, not the bottom of the wash. You will need to use your hands in a few places, but there are chipped handholds so it isn't that hard. You do not have to climb any pour-overs--stay on the trail. Use the ancient cuplike handholds. If you don't see them you are trying to go up the wrong way. Once you're up on the first bench the rest is fairly easy. The cache is hidden near the arch. From the parking spot to the cache is about a 20 minute walk. While you're at the arch, notice the handholds on the arch itself. What do you suppose ancient people used them for?
