Spanish colonists living in Santa Fe in the 1600's found fresh water springs and irrigable grasslands along this stretch of the Santa Fe River Valley valuable pastureland for livestock.

These historical markers are sure in need of repair!  This one was readable, but just barely----it has significantly faded. I took a pic, but obscured the writing in the pic so as not to be a spoiler.  Oh well---enjoyed coming here and learning some history.  Thanks!
