TKF is partnering with The Arc to complete the first of three phases in creating a Sensory Garden. The garden will combine numerous levels of healing meant to benefit individuals who attend the program, staff, and community users of The Arc's space. The primary vision for the garden is to create a place of sanctuary for Arc staff, and a place of opportunity to experience the healing power of nature for more than 75 individuals who have developmental disabilities and who attend the Bridges program on a daily basis. It is the first space that TKF is helping to create that is located within a large business park location that bustles with activity, especially during mid day with people out walking in large numbers. The Arc sees the garden as an opportunity to invite the public to take pause in the garden and at the same time, hopes to hopes to foster a stronger relationship with the individuals who attend their program. The surrounding community will be invited into the space with signage explaining the garden, along with a path leading from the main pedestrian sidewalk into the space.
According to signage at the site, the space is not yet complete, though it is still a pleasant spot to visit. Please post a photo with your log, so we can see the progress over time.
Log Password is XXYY, where XX is the number how wide the sunroom is wide (count the lower level, including the door and the narrow panel next to the door) and YY is the number of rows of bricks below those panels and the ground.
Also be sure to sign the guest book and if you can, please post a photo of your visit.
