Poison Plants Listed on OCNA Only

Please see the attributes article for more information.

Description   EN

Take a walk (or better yet, a bike ride) on the scenic Erie Canal and pick up this cool little multi in the process. Depending on where you park, you will cover between 3 and 4 miles (round trip).  Parking at Orangeport Rd. is a slightly shorter sojourn. All of the stages are straight forward except for one. Final is a LockNLock.  Please replace all legs as you found them.  Beware of muggles.  They can be plentiful on the trail.  The cache is in Niagara County where the semi-official plant is Poison Ivy.  Its everywhere so beware!

Team Bones came across the final while out picking off a few other finds. It was very visible and we literally had me thinking coords for reflections from GC.com were way off. So we rehid somewhat better and a bit more concealed and will log it as a find when we find the first legs of this multi. Bones

1 29 August 2011 Atmospherium Found it

Well, I got the FTF, but did I earn it? You be the judge.

After receiving a good hint regarding Leg 3, I biked out here again for another wack at it. And, once again, I couldn't find it.

Giving up in despair after 20 minutes or so, I decided to just go biking along the towpath for the fun of it. As I pedaled along in a certain direction, I thought to myself, "Now, why did Borst pick that particular spot for Leg 3? Why couldn't he have plopped it into a nice area like this one that I'm passing by?"

Just as I had that thought, I spied something. Something that a passing muggle would never notice, but which had me bringing my bike to a screeching halt, tires spitting gravel all over the path. I got off to investigate. It can't be. Is there a cache there? Maybe it's a letterbox. Maybe it's an old archived cache. Is it.....? Yep, it is. Opencaching.us. Tow Path Multi. I found the final.

So, I don't know if I earned this smiley or not, but I'll take it. I went caching, and I found the cache. I may never find Leg 3, but I can live with that. Thanks for the challenge and the adventure!

2 28 August 2011 Atmospherium Didn't find it

Couldn't resist the temptation to return for another hour of fruitless searching for leg 3. I managed to avoid most thorns and prickers this time, but added a wet foot to my list of mishaps.
