The trailhead for this virtual is located across from
the MS Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge Visitor's Center. The
Visitor's Center has some neat displays that you will want to check out.
At the trailhead sign, you can read about the trail's namesake; a
hard-working, intelligent entrepreneur who owned the land that became
the Refuge.
The trail winds down through a pine savannah. There are benches and
informational signs along the nature trail. You will see carnivorous
pitcher plants and, in the spring/fall, many blooming wildflowers. This
is a great one to get the kids outdoors and learn about the area.
At the posted coordinates you will find a wonderfully peaceful view and one of the informational signs. The password is the first word of the title on the sign. Enter it just as it is written on the sign.
