Initial point is the starting point for all surveys in Idaho. The cache is
located near the Initial Point monument. The control point on the monument is
accurate to less than 1/16 of an inch. 43 22' 19.24159"N 116 23' 38.70798"W. A
good place to test the accuracy of your GPS receiver. Someone has stolen the
brass marker, but the hole is there so you can tell where it was. The cache is
located close to the monument, behind a large boulder and covered with rocks.
Park at the bottom of the hill unless you have a high clearance vehicle (4WD) .
Its only a block or so to the top of the hill.
