I first found this site several years ago while doing a couple of webcams and a flashmob in the area. I remembered watching the mini-series "Roots" while I was in high school. Our whole family watched every episode together. So visiting this site brought back some nice childhood memories.

LOGGING REQUIREMENTS: Visit the site in person. Post a photo of your GPSr (and hopefully you) at the site and enter the Log Password. The log password in the fifth word in the second line of the plaque nearest and facing Mr. Haley.
There are several plaques in the area to read through. Please take some time to read them. There is also a very nice Compass Rose embedded in the sidewalk across the street.
Although there is no fee to visit the site. There are parking fees for the parking lot nearest the memorial.
