Charging Bull
This statue is a well reconized piece and was installed without permission in front of the New York Stock Exchange in December 1989. The owner spent $360,000 of his own money to create and install the statue. It was originally impounded by police but public outcry led to the city to issue a temporary permit for the placement of the statue. The piece is now on loan to the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation who have placed it in nearby Bowling Green park. It weighs 7,100 lbs and stands 11 feet tall.
