I&#039;m surprised I hadn&#039;t stopped here before, but now that is rectified. Went out back and looked around too. I&#039;ll need to return to see inside the buildings, and hear that giant bell ring. Had a bird fly out the barrel while looking at the wrong end of the cannon. All quiet on Monday. DudleyGrunt and I came down to North Carolina to seek some OCNA caches. They are many, many OCNA caches in the Charlotte area and we wanted to seek them during the current contest going on the OCNA site.

DG was kind enough to swing by here for me although he had already found this one a while back. Thanks for placing this cache. TFTC

3486.  Museuam was closed, but I was able to get the required photo.  Looks like it would be a great place to visit when they're open.

I got off of work early and made my way by this one. I was tempted to park in the bus parking, but the parking lot was pretty empty so I just swung around and parked as close as I could. I grabbed the GPS and camera phone and made my way to the cannon. I took the required picture and was on my way.

I stopped by this on my way to an emergency.... 

My mother-in-law's remote control stopped working.  She lives in Aldersgate behind the Hezekiah Homesite.  I HAD to swing by and cross this cache off my to-do list.  I also HAD to get my shiney new GPSr in another photo op!

Well, I claimed the cache and rescued my mother-in-law by figuring out what happened to her remote.

I'd say that was a good Friday night.

Looks like I'm logging the first find on a virtual opencache in NC, and it's a FTF as well!! Last time I was here, I brought the family to the 12th night festival, and we had a great time. The museum and the grounds here are top notch, and I would recommend a visit to all Charlotteans. Thanks TermiteHunter for a great virtual cache!!
