Dear OCNA contributor:
Thank-you for contributing to the
Opencaching North America cache base by hiding and submitting cache
listings to OCNA. Currently you have one or more caches that have been
submitted to OCNA, but were not accepted (published) for reasons that
would have been stated in a cache note from an OCNA Admin team member.
All
cache submissions to OCNA are reviewed by a team of volunteer admins to
look for any potential issues with the cache placement -
http://wiki.opencaching.us/index.php/Ca ... Guidelines.
If there are questions or concerns with a cache submission, the admin
member will communicate those to the cache owner, and usually will add
'DRAFT' to the cache name. This gives the cache owner the opportunity to
make changes to the cache and/or to provide additional information.
Sometimes, the cache owner takes no further action and the unpublished
listing is essentially 'abandoned'. However, those abandoned listings
remain in the list of Pending Caches (a list of caches awaiting review,
only visible to OCNA admins) - they are only removed from the list of
pending caches when they are accepted/published, or if they are blocked
by OCNA admin. When a cache is blocked, it is still visible to the cache
owner, and it can be unblocked by an admin member upon request, but the
listing cannot be altered while it is blocked.
As part of a
housekeeping exercise, we plan to block any caches that have been
sitting in the "Pending Caches" list for more than two months. If you
are still interested in having your geocache published on OCNA, please
look at the cache listing to review any of the comments posted by OCNA
admins. If you are able to make the requested changes, please do so and
then send us an email at
octeam@opencaching.us
letting us know what changes were made. If it has been many months
since the cache was first submitted, we would also request that you
first check the geocache to ensure it is still in place and in good
condition. Alternatively, if you are no longer interested in having the
geocache listed with OCNA, then no action is required - the cache will
remain in your list of blocked caches but that is only visible to you
and to OCNA admins.
Please let us know within the next 10 days if you hope to fix or reuse the cache listing. Thanks and happy caching,
The OCNA volunteer admin team
