Turns out, of all the lighthouses along the OBX, Bodie Island lighthouse was the one we'd never stopped at. So after looking at the benchmark, we went to the lighthouse. We weren't able to get tickets for the tour/climb, so we looked around the gift shop and outside the lighthouse. The Outer Banks Repeater Association had a tent setup for a Lighthouse Ham radio event or exercise, so we talked radios for a few minutes. Thanks for the fun side trip, and TFTFTF!
