This is a typical micro in the woods. Please bring a writing tool as the container is too small for one. It's not on the ground, that should help.
I've hidden many caches in this area and like it for its relative calm and ease of access. Please place it the way you found it and ensure it is closed completely so the log will remain dry.
Depending on the time of year, you may be treated to some wildlife at the pond. The pond is usually very, very low but contains enough water to let the cattails grow and keep the frogs wet.
