At this location you will find the North Carolina Willow Oak Champion Tree. There are two in the Forest Service database, this tree holding a few more points over the other one located in Sampson County. The Willow Oak is native to North Carolina.
When it was registered in 2008 it was 85 feet tall, 307 inches around (over 25 feet!), and had a crown spread of 124 feet.
This virtual is located in a neighborhood. Parking is to the right of the clubhouse. Please no night caching.
This is a very majestic and beautiful tree. Please post a picture of the tree when you visit so that we can see it change through the seasons.
There is a plaque onsite with the Champion Tree certificate. You will need to collect the Nominator's Last Name from this certificate to log the cache (the Log Password).
