Descriere EN

While hiking the Bruce trail I came across this interesting stone. At first I thought it might be a headstone, but on further inspection it appears to be some sort of marker for, well, not really sure. There is a company logo stamped on it that I cannot make out, except for TOLEDO OH stamped along the bottom. AC is stamped upside-down and on an angle on the upper right corner. And the main text reads: C 684 E  /  1921  /  2-14  /  FLUX

The stone is broken off below that point, so I'm not sure if there were other words.

Based on the inclusion of the words "FLUX" and "AC", I'm assuming this had something to do with electricity. It's a mystery. Would love to hear from anyone that can shed some light on this. I searched around a bit for the bottom half of the stone, without any luck. There is a large amount of unnatural rock near this one - I think a lot of fill was dumped while creating the Centennial Parkway hill and this particular stone may have just tumbled a bit further than the rest.

The cache is a 500ml Nalgene bottle. It not hidden under this stone, but underneath a nearby pile of unnatural rocks. You should be able to find it in winter unless the snow is more than a foot deep.

To reach this cache, you should park at Battlefield Park and follow the trails from there. It's just over one kilometer each way. Or you could park on Greenhill Ave. See the listing for Higher and Drier for parking waypoints. Do not attempt to park along Centennial Parkway - no parking allowed.
