AZTEC RUINS NATIONAL MONUMENT

Aztec Ruins is an Anasazi  500 room pueblo with the nations largest reconstructed Great Kiva. Take a self-guided tour of the ruins and imagine what it was like back in Anasazi times. In addition to the ruins, there is a museum, bookstore, restrooms, and picnic area. Sign the guest book to claim the cache.

Aztec Ruins National Monument is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. most of the year and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day. The park is closed Thanksgiving, December 25th, and January 1st.

Park entrance is $5.00 per adult. Admission is free for children 15 and under.  The entrance pass is valid for seven days.

The U.S. National Park Service will offer 17 fee-free days in 2011. 

About 147 of the 394 parks and historic sites operated by the National Park Service charge admission fees ranging from $3 to $25. Fees will be waived on the following days:

* Jan. 15 to 17 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day
* April 16 to 24 in honor of National Park Week
* The first day of summer June 21
* Sept. 24 in honor of National Public Lands Day
* Nov. 11 to 13 in honor of Veterans Day
