This is another in a series of caches that have you first find a
Benchmark in order to find a hidden cache near the benchmark, or find the cache then find the Benchmark (the other caches are found on Geocaching.com and Terracaching.com). This
cache is placed near a dirt road accessing the BLM Sleeping Giant Area (Wood Siding Road) and along the Recreation Road. The listed cordinates are those cordinates listed for
the Benchmark designated H 436, as these cordinates are scaled they
may not be exact. You can find more information that will be useful
in finding the benchmark by going Geocaching.com and go to the "Find A Benchmark" link
and entering Point ID: RX0792. I have provided the NGS listing below, but you might still want to check the information for the benchmark as others may have logged more helpfull information. Park at the Prickly Pear Fishing Access site accross the road for the Benchmark and cache location.
01/01/1979 by NGS (MONUMENTED) DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1979 7.0 MI SOUTH FROM WOLF CREEK. 7.0 MILES SOUTH ALONG OLD U.S. HIGHWAY 91 FROM THE BRIDGE ACROSS LITTLE PRICKLY PEAR CREEK IN WOLF CREEK, SET ACROSS THE HIGHWAY FROM A PICNIC AREA ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, 65.2 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 17.6 FEET NORTHWEST OF TELEPHONE POLE NUMBER 9 1/2, AND 27.6 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF A ROCK ROAD LEADING NORTHWEST. THE MARK IS 3.2 FT E FROM A WITNESS POST.
