We were late for the anniversary, but stopped by when we had the chance today. I never knew about the rather nice plaques surrounding the girders. Thanks!

I was waiting till 9/11 to make this find. Missed all the speeches this morning but got to spend some quiet minutes here on the way home.

I'm just going back through some of my old finds, and I wanted to give this one a recommendation. I still drive by this sometimes, and the memorial never fails to amaze me!

Visiting here seemed in keeping with the somber tone of the day since I attended a memorial service for the husband of a coworker. Amazing how one can be sad and angry at the same time. Very emotional to visit here, especially the way it is lit at night. Highly recommend this as a night-time cache.

I have wanted to get down here for quite some time to see this. I used to pass by here every day after work about 3 or 4 years ago, but don't remember seeing this before. Thanks for bringing me here. I looked for some information signs, but couldn't find any. I added this to my recommendation list. TFTC

2570.  I've waited all week to come out and visit this site.  Thanks MotherWolf (and FalconLoader) for bringing me here!  I don't get by this way much - ususally when caching.  I don't recall noticing it before.  Any idea when it was erected.  I didn't notice any infomational signs and didn't not see it in Google Street View, but in the satellite image, it looks like there was work being done here.

I don't know how anyone who was alive and old enough to be aware, can ever forget where they were when they first heard the news.  I was at work on Fort Belvoir and got a call from a coworker asking if I'd heard anything about some sort of plane crash in NYC.  I checked WTOP, Drudge Report, and Fox News (and maybe others) online and didn't see anything.  She'd heard something on some morning drive show on the radio and I asked her if she thought it might have been some kind of stunt or "gag" on the show.  I don't recall the subsequent calls or my first clear confirmation as clearly, but those details will always be very sharp.

I've since been to Ground Zero in 2004 and just recently have been to the Pentagon memorial.  I even got to tour the Pentagon with my son's scout troop and our last stop inside was the original indoor memorial, just inside from where the plane struck.  I plan to visit Shanksville sometime by this year's anniversary.

I'm also the proud owner of an OCUS virtual at the To Lift A Nation monument at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park in Emmitsburg, MD.  At this date, it still remains unfound.  Anyone who has not been, should definitlely visit.

Even more importantly than remembering where we were, is remembering the lessons of 9/11, so we remain vigilant against continuing / future treats.

Thanks, again!

Yes, I remember exactly where I was at. I was actually in my last year of college, and my boyfriend (who I married) called me and told me to get somewhere where there was a TV, since I didn't have cable at the time.

I've driven through here several times and never knew this was here. Thanks for bringing me here. It's a beautiful memorial for something that I'll never forget!

Located across the street from where I get my car washed periodically.  I was very happy to discover my first OPEN-CACHE would be such a special tribute and by created by one of my special caching friends.
