Beschrijving EN

This is my second cache exclusive to Opencaching North America at a location featured on the website RoadsideAmerica.com, which specializes in "offbeat" attractions. A daredevil museum is offbeat enough, but what makes this one really offbeat is that it's located inside a mini-mart/souvenir shop. Pick up some beer, cigarettes, and a souvenir Niagara Falls T-Shirt while you're there! This is a BIT cache, there is no container to find.

The museum has on display artifacts (barrels and a Jet Ski) used only in the modern era of Niagara Falls stunting, dating back to 1984. However, there are photographs, and information on all the Niagara Falls Daredevils, dating back to Annie Taylor, the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel, in 1901.

Her barrel, and two others from later stunts are housed at the Niagara Falls, Ontario IMAX theatre. I believe all the contraptions used by daredevils prior to 1984 were housed at the Niagara Falls Museum (Ontario), but it closed in 1999, and it's collection sold to a private investor. The IMAX has obviously acquired 3 of the items.

If you should find this museum in Niagara Falls, N.Y. closed, the BIT cache is outside the museum in the public right of way, and is available 24/7/365. It is on the small side, as far as BIT caches go, measuring about 2 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches. The Mini Mart/Museum is open 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM year round. There is free parking out back of the building for Mini Mart/Museum visitors. Hint is a dead give away, should you need it.
