This virtual cache will take you only the C&O Towpath. Although they don't allow physical caches there, they do in fact allow virtual caches there. The total hiking time will be about 1.3 miles. As the property is owned by the National Park Service, please search for this cache during daylight hours only.

Built in 1848, Sideling Hill Creek Aqueduct is single span, approximately 110 feet long. It is situated close to mile 136 on the C&O Towpath.

There is a confirmation code for this cache. On the grassy area between the two sets of bricks (in front of the bridge), you'll see rusted steal beams. The confirmation code will the the number of beams there spelled out (not numercal). If you have problems with the confirmation code, you can send me a picture of you and/or your GPS at the site, or post it to the page, and send me a message.

Enjoy the hike out. This is a trail I always enjoy hiking on when going to Western Maryland.

1 06 April 2013 DudleyGrunt Found it

Was out in Western Maryland to seek CAM and MML 2012, Munzees, TC's and OCAN hides.  Enjoyed the walk out, but a neighborhood dog, decided to let me know it was his area.  He was no problem, but just wanted to bark a lot.  Thought he might follow me out, though.

I seemd to have found nearer possible parking, too.  N 39 38.253 W 78 19.740.  Seemed to be legal and had signage where it lead off the main road.

Thanks and Happy Trails!
