I particularly enjoy a cache that brings me to an interesting location, and it surprised me how many people were not aware of this free Charlotte-area entertainment. The coordinates will take you to the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport Overlook, an observation area that offers terrific views of one of the main runways. Pack a lunch and bring a camera - great way to entertain the kids, too.
The overlook is open from 8:00 am - 10:30 pm.
To claim credit for this cache, submit a photo of yourself with the runway in the background - extra credit if you can also catch an aircraft landing or taking off.
