All aboard the heighliner!
Get the Guild experience in the Rail Line Park, in the 1/4 mile section called Phase 1. This greenway serves Philadelphians and visitors from around the region and world—with open space and engaging programs on arts, education, culture, health, and wellness. This Park is elevated above the street, allowing you to travel far above traffic, break though Philadelphia's rigid grid street layout, and effectively fold space itself using prescient knowledge of the Park's entry and exit points. The design restores and maintains much of the existing steel and introduces materials of a similar industrial scale and character for the platforms, benches and guardrails. Even the vegetation conveys the rugged character of the place with a variety of planters and horticultural elements. Check out the massive sculpture -- resembling, as one reporter wrote, a telephone pole -- perhaps too literally so. Enjoy the massive couch-sized swings and 360 degree view of the Callowhill Rapid Gentrification Zone. Venture outside the comfort of your spice tank to check out the mural entitled “The Stamp of Incarceration: James Anderson" by Shepard Fairey.
A beginning is a very delicate time.
Start your search by navigating to the terminus of Phase I, near the stairs down to Callowhill Street, and look on the underside of things.
