Strait Canyon, Joe's Valley
Only about .12 miles from the paved road. Follow a stream bed up to where it flows through an interesting cave. The cache is relatively near the cave. The cache name Cox Swale, came from the name of this side canyon. Apparently a Swale is like a cave. If you scramble up the stream through the cave, or scramble around to get above it, there is a really pretty waterfall. I placed this cache while ice climbing in the area. The stream freezes solid so you can walk all the way up the stream and then climb a beautiful curtain of ice. I should mention that although we were climbing at the falls, you do not have to climb or have any special equipment to get to the cache, whether Winter or Summer. You just might have to get a little creative on how to work your way up the stream. Enjoy!
