Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary is a significant natural resource recognized internationally among Audubon birdwatchers. Take a walk along the dike of the lagoon, and at various times throughout the year you could spot a wood stork, white or brown pelican, snowy egret or belted kingfisher, white, tri-color or blue heron, anhinga, or blue wing teal and cinnamon teal ducks. And yes, be cautious of the occasional alligator!
Natural canals provide a variety of challenges along with unique views of local wildlife. Be sure to plan your water trek carefully, going around in circles and into dead-ends is all a part of the adventure.
There is a launch slip about 50' to the West of the entrance gate.
Much of the Sanctuary is child friendly, even the canals where a kayak or canoe is your best choice but still be careful.
Time and distance noted is 1-way. Difficulty can vary greatly by time of the year and weather conditions.

You are looking for a laminated white tag afixed to a tree about eye level as you are sitting in you small boat (I was in my kayak). There are 3 words that you will use for logging - All CAPS and no spaces.
