It doesn't take a whole lot of work to get to this really outstanding area but you get to go through a nice stretch of pine forest , you'll see some fantastic trees on the walk, and you'll end up at a large rock shelter that houses the arch on a bluff that rises above the surrounding area. When you get to the general area of the coordinates coming in from the trail, the arch won't be immediately visible - keep looking though, you can't miss it.
After doing what needs to be done to log the cache, it's worth your time to scramble up on top of the arch/cliff area to get a good view of the area. If that seems like too daunting a task (it's a pretty good rock scramble), you can continue on unofficial trails past the arch where there is a nice overlook. As always in the gorge, you should be extremely careful around here. Any slip or fall could very well be fatal around any of these gorgeous locations.
To log this cache:
1. Take a picture of yourself with Whistling Arch clearly in the background
2. Take a picture of the cool rock shelter.
3. The password is the official trail number of the Whistling Arch Trail, as noted on the marker at the parking area.
