Follow along with the adventures of Norman, a little plant-loving door mouse, living in the woods in the middle of the city. He lives behind the Brazos Center. To find him, park near the back of the lot. Walk to the right side of the pavilion and travel beyond until you find a trailhead marked with bricks and stones. Take a couple of steps and the trail splits. You can go either way, but the shortest way will be to the left.

You will find the following markers on your way. There is a Box Elder on the left and an American Elm on the right. There are lots of Inland Sea Oats and Norman loves to hear them rustle in the wind. He eats the seeds to help sustain him through the winter. His friends, the butterflies love the White Mistflower. Keep walking and you'll see a Water Oak on the left that appears to be dead. That makes Norman sad, but maybe it will make a good home for woodpeckers. Further up the trail is a Trumpet Vine on the left, a favorite hang out with the Hummerbirds. Next up is a Sugarberry on the right. Then you'll get to a Chinaberry on the right. Norman is not real fond of these trees since they are not native here. They can be invasive and messy (but they do have a nice purple flower in the Spring). If you look directly across the trail from this Chinaberry, you will see another one just a few steps off the trail. Norman is hiding behind the tree and will have a nice flower to reward your walk. Please hide him well so he will stay nice and dry. There is a little of the evil ivy around, but it can be avoided. Keep an eye out for snakes. Norman is scared of them.

If you want to continue your walk, the trail makes a loop or you can go back the way you came. Enjoy your stroll. There is a Munzee in the box for those who like a double treat.
