Description EN

If you've started geocaching after 2005 as I have, then you likely feel you missed the boat on caches that used to be mainstream... like webcams.  Here in Cincinnati, there used to be a webcam cache on Fountain Square, but now the nearest "grandfathered" webcams are Louisville KY and Toledo, OH.  So I'm very grateful that OpenCaching.US has opened up the game.

This is a Traffic Cam.  It helps to double check that the camera is tracking today's date and time.  These have been known to fail from time to time, and I don't want anyone to make an unneccessary trip if a quick test had shown it was temporarily down. (It always helps to get one's ducks in a row.)

I just finished testing this myself, and am jazzed to see it working.

TIPS:
You cannot park on William Howard Taft Road, and it is a one way street heading westbound.  But good news: it has good sidewalks both north and south.  Parking can be found either to the west around Reading Road by the White Castle's, or to the east along May Street.  (Both seem equal choices, and I found May Street to have ample space upon my visit.)

You can find the webcam moving image here: http://www.artimis.org/camera/cam86page.html
or you can use the direct still image here: http://cmhimg01.dot.state.oh.us/images/artimis/CCTV086.jpg

Most use the traditional means of phoning a partner to save the image.  I completed this one by myself using an Android smartphone/tablet.  Remember to face north toward the camera and smile!

Happy trails, fellow cachers!
