Well here it is, the first ever Opencache for Peterborough! I spent three days in Peterborough and really enjoyed it. I always thought it would be someplace I would enjoy living, and my stay confirmed that - although I sure would miss swimming in Lake Ontario (not sure I could swim in Little Lake).
The cache is located along a maze of trails behind the Camp Kawartha Environmental Centre. You can park there and make your way to the cache (I did but it was the end of the day and few cars at the Centre) - or park along Pioneer Rd or at the lots for the nearby sports fields.
I made sure the cache is really close to the trail, so no need to trample vegetation. It should be available in winter (although a Peterborough winter is probably a bit more intense than a Hamilton winter). Be sure to take note of the logging password, and enter it exactly as it appears on the logsheet. The cache is a micro tube, and contains only the logsheet. Please bring a pen.
After finding the cache, enjoy exploring the trails. After that, you might want to check out the free zoo and other attractions at the Riverside Park and Zoo
