Took a trip down to Boise to watch my cougars play in the 2025 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and was shocked to see this great Pac-12 Stadium didn't have a Virtual Cache. To log this cache simply snap a selfie anywhere at Albertsons stadium. Make sure the stadium or the infamous blue turf is visible in the picture. If you don't want to take a selfie just snap a picture with a personal item.
Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho, is the iconic home of the Boise State Broncos football team in the Pac-12 Conference and hosts the annual Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
Originally opened in 1970 as Bronco Stadium with a capacity of 14,500 seats and a standard green AstroTurf field, it has undergone several expansions over the decades and now holds 36,387 fans. It was renamed Albertsons Stadium in 2014 after the grocery chain Albertsons (founded in the Boise area) purchased the naming rights.
The stadium's most distinctive feature is its vibrant blue artificial turf installed in 1986. This was a bold marketing move by athletic director Gene Bleymaier to make Boise State stand out nationally. It became the first non-green playing surface in football history and remained the only one among major college programs for nearly 20 years.
