I have long used "Happy Trails" as my default geocaching signature line. While I'm not old enough to have listened to the Roy Rogers / Dale Evans radio show from the 40's & 50's, or even the later television show, I do recall the song in it's connection to the Roy Rogers restaurants. I used to frequent one with my dad, when I was a kid, and loved it - especially the apple crumb desert. As I grew up, I continued to enjoy a good Doule-R-Bar Burger (a cheeseburger with ham!) every once in a while. Then, starting in 1990, the chain was sold off to Hardees, then they sold off most of them to other chains, including McDonalds in the Baltimore / Washington area. That was a sad time.
When I started working nearby, in 2000, I was very excited to find this one and 3 more within a short distance. I especially enjoy the family feeling I get at this location.
I've wanted to place a cache at this location, since another one was archived a while back. There are not really a lot of places to put much more than a nano on the property, though. And most places I'd considered would be highly visible to the muggles eating in the restaurant. Then came BITcaches and they seemed to be a perfect solution.
While you don't need to purchase anything to claim this cache, I would highly recommend making this (or another Roys) your lunch stop on your next caching run.
If you do stop in while you're here, let them know you came for the cache, especially if you see Mynor. Be careful how you say that, though, or they might think you're an outlaw trying to rob the place.
Happy Trails
by Dale Evans
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.
Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

Permission originaly granted by manager, Mynor.Jeff Todd, who was the very hands-on and much loved owner of the Alexandria area Roy Rogers restaurants, was tragically killed in an autmobile accident, recently. I'd like to dedicate this cache in his honor.
