I've made several trips to Thomasville recently. There isn't much left of the old furniture manufacturing businesses, but there are still some enterprising people around. I saw The Big Chair on the map while looking for other things, and decided to go see it. It was big! While there I also saw two trains go past or stop before crossing Randolph Street (NC 109). One was bigger and slower, and one was smaller and faster. As far as I know this is the first OCUS cache in Thomasville. Ironically, perhaps, Thomasville is between two highways, and either highway can get you here.
A fountain, Thomasville Industry history sign, a clock tower, an EV charger, and a plaque memorializing Nona Ingram Welborn (1895-1969) the park's namesake, are also in the park.
